Prof. Dr. Muhammad Firoz Mridha (Senior Member IEEE, Professional Member ACM) is a distinguished academic and
AI researcher with over 20 years of teaching, research, and leadership experience in Computer Science and
Engineering. He currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and a Member, Research &
Publication Steering Committee at the American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB), and is the Founder and
Director of the Advanced Machine Intelligence Research (AMIR) Lab. His research spans Artificial Intelligence (AI),
Machine Learning (ML), Computer Vision (CV), Large Language Models (LLMs), and Natural Language
Processing (NLP). He has authored and co-edited several Springer books and published over 350 peer-reviewed journal articles
and conference papers, including in IEEE Transactions and A*-ranked venues, accumulating more than 7000 citations.
Prof. Mridha has been recognized among the top 0.5% of researchers worldwide (ScholarGPS, 2024) and the top 2% of
scientists globally (Stanford/Elsevier, 2024–2025). He also ranks among the top five most productive researchers in
Bangladesh (Scopus/Elsevier, 2024–2025). In addition to his scholarly achievements, he has served as General Chair,
Program Chair, and Editorial Board Member (including PLOS ONE), contributing significantly to the international AI
research community.
